The Yamagata Hanagasa Festival is one of Tohoku’s most famous summer festivals, held every year from August 5th to 7th in Yamagata City. Dancers parade through the streets, waving beautiful “hanagasa” hats adorned with red safflowers, while chanting “Yassho, Makasho!” in unison. Their synchronized movements and matching outfits create a breathtaking spectacle that captivates the crowds lining the streets.

Zao Snow Monsters
