Kuwana Ishidori Festival
The “Kuwana Ishidori Festival” is a traditional celebration held every year on the first Sunday of August and the day before at Kasuga Shrine in Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture. It’s known as the loudest festival in Japan and is even registered as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. The main highlight of the festival is the procession of about 30 elaborate festival floats (called “yama”) that are pulled through the town, accompanied by the intense sound of drums and gongs. The most exciting moments of the festival are the “Hataka-dashi” on the first night and the “Tosai” ceremony on the following day. The energy and powerful sound of the festival fill the summer air in Kuwana and make it an unforgettable experience.

Ise Jingu (Ise Grand Shrine)
The Ise Shrine is dedicated to Amaterasu Omikami, the highest deity in Japanese mythology, and is considered the most sacred and special shrine in Japan. The expansive grounds are surrounded by lush forests. After visiting the shrine, we highly recommend taking a stroll through the nearby sacred town, with its charming streets like “Oharai-cho” and “Okage-yokochō.”

Kumano Kodo (Mie Prefecture)
The “Kumano Kodo” is a UNESCO World Heritage pilgrimage route that stretches across the Kii Peninsula, including Mie Prefecture, leading to the sacred Kumano Sanzan. Among the various routes, the Iseji stands out as it connects Ise Shrine with Kumano. This path is known for its beautiful stone-paved roads and lush forests, and it features many stunning viewpoints that overlook the sea.

Toba City / Pearl Farming
Toba City in Mie Prefecture is famous for being the birthplace of pearl cultivation, where the world’s first successful pearl farming took place. Akame Forty-eight Waterfalls
The “Akame Forty-Eight Waterfalls” in Nabari City, Mie Prefecture, is a beautiful gorge with a series of waterfalls, large and small. The highlights are the five famous waterfalls known as the “Akame Gokaku,” which include Fudo Falls, Senju Falls, Nunobiki Falls, Ketan Falls, and Biwa Falls. There are also plenty of activities to enjoy, such as ninja training experiences and eco-tours.

Suzuka Circuit
The Suzuka Circuit in Mie Prefecture is a legendary location for motorsports in Japan, hosting international races like the F1 Japanese Grand Prix and the Suzuka 8 Hours. In addition to the race track, there are various facilities including the Suzuka Circuit Park amusement park, hotels, and restaurants.

Yokkaichi City
Yokkaichi City is known as an industrial hub, but it’s also famous for its stunning ‘Factory Night Views,’ where the lights from the factories shine in a magical way. From the ‘Umiterasu 14’ observation deck at the Yokkaichi Port Tower, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the entire Yokkaichi Port and its industrial complex.

Matsusaka City
Mie Prefecture, located in the central part of Japan, is famous worldwide as the home of the renowned Matsusaka beef. The area is dotted with historic sites like the ruins of Matsusaka Castle and the Osakaban-yashiki (former samurai residences). Iga City / Iga-ryu Ninja
Iga City is known as the birthplace of the Iga-ryu Ninja tradition. Additionally, every year in May, the “Iga Ueno NINJA Festa” is held, where you can experience ninja culture firsthand, including walking through the streets dressed in ninja attire.

Shima City / Ago Bay
Agowan Bay, known for its beautiful landscape formed by a complex ria coastline and around 60 islands, is also famous as a major hub for pearl farming. You can even get a hands-on experience of the pearl farming process. The sunset views from Yokoyama Observatory and Tomoyama Park are particularly stunning.

“Nagashima Resort” is a large, multi-faceted resort complex. It features thrilling rides at “Nagashima Spa Land,” beautiful seasonal flowers and illuminations at “Nabana no Sato,” along with a variety of other attractions.
