Inuyama Festival
The Inuyama Festival is a traditional spring event held every year on the first Saturday and Sunday of April at Haritsuna Shrine in Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture. Dating back to 1635, the festival features 13 elaborately decorated floats, each about 8 meters tall, pulled through the streets by different neighborhoods. These floats are built in three tiers, and on the top level, you’ll see intricate mechanical puppets (karakuri ningyō)performing traditional routines—a craft passed down since the Edo period.
At night, the floats are lit up with 365 lanternsand paraded beneath blooming cherry blossoms, creating a truly magical scene. Recognized as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Assetby the Japanese government in 2006 and added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritagelist in 2016, this festival continues to be a cherished celebration of local history and culture, drawing crowds of both locals and visitors every year.

Nagoya City
Nagoya, located in Aichi Prefecture, is a city where history and modern life blend together. Nagoya Castle, closely linked to Tokugawa Ieyasu, is a must-see with its famous golden shachihoko (a mythical fish figure). Kōrankei
Kōranke in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, is famous for its stunning autumn foliage, with around 4,000 maple trees that attract visitors each year. In spring, the area is also beautifully covered with blooming katakuri flowers. You can enjoy the natural beauty while strolling along the paths beside the Tomoe River.

Gamagōri City, Takeshima(Yaotomi Shrine)
Takeshima Island, located in Gamagori City, Aichi Prefecture, has been designated a national natural monument and is home to a unique ecosystem of native plants. The entire island is considered sacred, as it forms the precincts of Yaotomi Shrine, which is known for bringing good fortune, safe childbirth, and matchmaking.
The Takeshima Bridge, which connects the island to the mainland, is often called the “Bridge of Love.” According to a romantic legend, couples who cross it while holding hands must not look back until they reach the other side—or their bond might be broken.

Tokoname City
Tokoname City is known as a pottery town. On the “Yakimono Walking Path,” you can still experience the charm of this city that thrived in the Showa era with its traditional ceramics industry, and enjoy pottery-themed art. Additionally, there are several other attractions like Rinku Beach and the INAX Live Museum scattered around the area.

Okazaki Castle
Okazaki Castle is a historic castle where Tokugawa Ieyasu was born. In spring, the castle is surrounded by beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom. Inside the castle, you’ll find the Mikawa Bushi no Yakata Ieyasu-kan, a museum dedicated to the life of Tokugawa Ieyasu, making it a must-visit spot for history enthusiasts.

Seto City
Seto City is a town famous for its pottery and ceramics. The “Setomono Festival,” held every September, and pottery-making experiences are popular attractions. In the city, you can also visit places like the Seto City Ceramic Museum and the Maneki Neko Museum, where you can learn more about ceramics.

Toyota City
Toyota City is known as the headquarters of Toyota Motor Corporation and is famous as a hub for the automotive industry.
